Local Authorities

The Shaw Foundation, through Shaw Lifetime Care works in partnership with Local Authorities to provide care services for all regardless of their ability to pay.

Free and Independent Care advice

The Foundation offers, through My Care My Home, Free phone and on line chat advice to anyone on how to find the care service they need, how to pay for it, how to find the care home or domiciliary  care or live -in care service that is right for them, how to obtain Power of Attorney and the many other problems faced by someone suddenly finding they need a hand to hold through the care maze.

Some Local Authorities choose to redirect or signpost Self Funders through to My Care My Home’s free phone service, as it offers a more extensive advice service than the Local Authority has the resources to provide and one that is particularly supportive to care seekers.

Domiciliary Care and Live-in Care services

The Foundation offers, through My Care My Home, domiciliary care services to people in their own home and also a Live – in Care service throughout the UK.

An alternative to the Deferred Purchase Agreement

Foundation also offers all Local Authorities an alternative for the Deferred Purchase Agreements through its partner Shaw Lifetime Care (SLC).  SLC’s “Care and Home Inheritance Plan “(CHIP) is more beneficial for people who seek a deferred purchase agreement from their Local authority to meet the immediate cost of care home fees because the customer’s beneficiary(ies) retain the house and also recover within about ten years all the costs borrowed from the house to pay the benefactor’s care home fees.

All the services offered to the NHS

The services provided to the NHS are all also provided to all Local Authorities by the Foundations partners.
