Completed projects 

Developing, testing and validating a dependency tool: a questionnaire answered by carers which accurately forecast the number of hours of one –on- one care a resident would need each week Study overseen, reviewed and validated By Warwick University and University of the West of England Bristol.

Projects in Progress

Evaluation of the effect on People living with dementia in the community of Dementia Hubs  A project managed by The University of Worcester.

Planned Projects

A comparison of the clinical effectiveness of different Hospital Discharge regimes and the effect on bed utilisation in hospitals. A Study to be undertaken by London School of Economics and University of Kent.

A partnership with University of South Wales to develop a 'real world' management programme for people working in care.

Supporting Research

The Shaw Foundation have supported numerous research projects which have enabled collaborators to better inform, influence and impact their specialist areas at a higher level. 


We are currently funding a PHD student at University of Worcester who will examine the impact of a strategic regional approach to scaling up Meeting Centres for people affected by dementia.


This project aims to explore a novel regional approach to establishing community Meeting Centres for people and families affected by dementia.
